Used Computer Parts – How to Get the Right Deal

There are many people who want to get rid of unwanted gifts or more or less new items at low prices and there are companies that upgrade items in their personal products very often and therefore want to get rid of old parts of computer. Such computer parts can be bought at cheap rates through business safely rather than from someone privately.

If the primary objective of buying a cheap computer is to do basic word processing, e-mailing and a little of internet surfing, then the following computer parts should be taken care of:

CPU: For a cheap computer a socket 478 motherboard and CPU would suffice which will include other features like memory. As these motherboards have Intel components that are stable, they seldom crash. Since CPU is the heart of the computer and has a direct influence on the functioning of other parts as well, the most sophisticated processor like P4 is the best that offers compatibility and speed.

Motherboard: A motherboard that has plenty of room for expansion is better and the type of motherboard determines it. The motherboard is responsible for the controlling of display screen, keyboard and the disk drive.

RAM: Random Access Memory of 256 Megs would be better.

Hard Driver: The installed programs are stored in the hard drive and a large amount of storage space means it is possible to have a wide range of different software.

CD Writer: A CD ROM drive is essential to install windows and other applications and because CD writers are cheap, it is good to get a CD writer and use it as CD ROM. To share lots of digital pictures or video, CD writers come in handy.

Graphics Card: If the motherboard has an AGP slot, AGP graphics cards are the best and can be installed if games are to be played.

Monitor: A monitor is the single most expensive component in a computer system and the monitor must have a fine definition and a nice and stable image on the screen to avoid strain to the eye. The resolution of the monitor namely the number of pixels on the screen should be maximum to see the whole picture without zooming out. LCD screens are much easier to read and save the eyesight and are better than bulky cathode ray tube displays.

Keyboard and mouse: To do a lot of surfing and graphic designing an optical mouse would be apt. A cordless mouse and matching keyboard are available. An optical mouse is very responsive and does not let down, with the added advantage that it has no cords.

Vertical refresh rate: This is an important specification, which is the speed of the monitor drawn on an entire screen also known as frequency. The vertical refresh rate will decrease when the resolution increases and if the monitor is set higher it may damage the eyes as well as the monitor.

If used computer parts are purchased, the above computer parts can be purchased in good condition at very cheap rates. And also if a buyer has the expertise to assemble all the computer parts, using cheap used computer parts it is possible to get a computer according to his taste and need and a very low cost.
